Sugar Land’s youngest residents, their families and friends are all invited to meet the Easter bunny and enjoy an afternoon of egg hunts, prizes and spring fun during Sugar Land’s 27th Annual EGGStravaganza on Saturday, April 16, from noon to 3 p.m., at Eldridge Park, 2511 Eldridge Road.
Children up to 12 years old may participate in “egg scrambles” for treat-filled eggs and extra prizes from the prize booth. Free pictures with the Easter Bunny will be available to the first 200 guests.
This year’s egg scramble schedule follows:
• Ongoing throughout the event for children with special needs
• Ongoing throughout the event for 4 year olds and younger
• 12:30 p.m. for 5 year olds
• 1 p.m. for 6 years olds
• 1:30 p.m. for 7 year olds
• 2 p.m. for 8 and 9 year olds
• 2:30 p.m. for 10, 11 and 12 year olds
Each scramble lasts about one minute and is not repeated, so children should be at the scramble for their age group on time.
A “Beeping Bunnies” egg hunt area is planned for children with special needs. This activity include beeping eggs hidden among plush stuffed animals for children with vision impairments and a touch-sense course with eggs hidden at accessible heights for children with mobility impairments.
Other activities throughout the afternoon will include carnival games with prizes, bounce houses and moonwalks, a trackless train that rides around the lake and an interactive DJ.
All egg hunts and event activities will be free and open to the public, with the Sugar Land Lion’s Club selling refreshments from the pavilion at the park.
