Driveway robbers hit home in early morning hour

Arriving home in the early morning hours, early this month, a Dover resident was forced into their home, held hostage and robbed.

Friday, March 4, 2011 at 4:24 a.m., sheriff’s deputies responded to a home invasion robbery at a home in the 14200 block of Royal Hill Drive, in the Dover subdivision in far northeast Fort Bend County.

Sheriff’s spokesperson Terriann Carlson said residents of the home on Royal Hill Drive pulled into the driveway and parked at about 2:00 a.m. As they were getting out of the car and walking to the house, two armed men approached and began asking questions about who was inside the home. The unidentified victims were forced into the residence at gunpoint accompanied by the two armed men. The residents were taken hostage and bound while the intruders ransacked the home. Carlson said the intruders took numerous items of property including electronics, jewelry, power tools, and the victims cell telephones.

The suspects were described as black males in their late teens or early twenties. They were reported to be about 5’9 tall, medium builds, wearing dark or black clothing. Carlson said further investigation revealed that the suspects likely followed the victim into their neighborhood, possibly in a dark colored minivan.

Anyone that may have information regarding this crime or information that would lead to the identification and/ or whereabouts of the suspects involved is asked to call the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office at (281) 341-4665 or Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers Inc.
