Schiff Elementary announced today that it will hold its 2011 Shark-AThon on Friday, April 8 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. All community residents are invited to participate to support the local school.
The Shark-A-Thon is Schiff Elementary school’s annual fundraising event and is the largest fundraiser for the school in terms of total dollars raised. The proceeds from this year’s Shark-A-Thon will go toward the purchase of technology items for the classrooms.
The 2011 Shark-A-Thon will consist of carnival style games, inflatables, food, raffle, and a silent auction. Tickets are available for purchase the day of the event at the front of the school.
Schiff’s principal Mary Brewster states, “Our recent Shark-A-Thon’s have raised enough funds to build an incredible playground and a shade structure to protect our children from the hot summer sun while enjoying their playground. We are grateful for our community that has been so supportive of our school. This year we are turning our attention towards improving the technology in the classrooms.”
Schiff Elementary is located at 7400 Discovery Lane, in Sienna Plantation, Missouri City, Texas 77459. Schiff Elementary opened in the fall of 2008 and is named after Jan Schiff, a beloved educator who dedicated her life to children but died suddenly in early 2008. It is a Texas Recognized school.
