Wednesday afternoon, about 4pm, two women were arrested after a theft turned into a robbery. Sugar Land police responded to a medical uniform store at 16126 Hwy 59 regarding a theft.
According to police, the reportee told officials that two women had attempted to leave the store with unpaid merchandise. When the reportee followed the women out the store in an effort to get the license plate number on their car to provide to police, the female driver intentionally backed up the getaway car and hit the reporting party. The getaway car sped away. The vehicle and the two female occupants were located shortly thereafter headed northbound on Highway 6.
Ultimately, the two women were detained and identified by the victim as the suspects. The female driving was charged with Aggravated Robbery and the other female, who was a juvenile, was charged with Class B Theft.
