Interesting week
Murder trials can be annoying, exciting, or just interesting. Last week a 32-year-old witness made headlines throughout the area after she testified in Judge Thomas Culver III’s courtroom.
The woman was a witness in the ongoing murder trial, but it wasn’t her testimony that captured the headlines. It was what she said when she was told she could step down after the testimony was over.
She told the judge that she thought her water had broken. She is pregnant and the baby, according to court sources, is due in February.
Politics heating up
It has been cold and drizzly outside for the past two weeks, but locally the political scene is starting to heat up.
The children and grandchildren of Fulshear Mayor Jamie Roberts have launched a website that they hope will help unseat incumbent District Attorney John Healey. The Roberts family vowed to hit the pavement running if Healey drew an opponent in this election.
It appears they won’t have to pound the pavement that much. They can reach a lot of people with the simple click of a button and that is what they plan to do.
So far, Healey hasn’t provided his response to the web launching.
How ironic. Now Healey will have to answer the charges made against him.
I guess that might be considered some form of poetic justice.
