You would think that to be successful a criminal endeavor would have to remain, secret … well, not so much.

Imagine the patrolman’s surprise as he was rolling down a Telfair street and saw sparks flying from a home under construction.

Sparks! Holy Cow! That leads to FIRE!

Now we all know, cops dodge bullets and leap tall buildings - but they don’t do fire! However, being the Nosy Nancies we pay them to be… they checked out what was causing the sparks to fly in the 6700 block of Kempton in Telfair. And, lo and behold, if a pair of fleet footed crooks were cutting up rebar - to sell for scrap!

Instantly divesting themselves of the scrap iron, the crooks bolted. One was nabbed quickly, the other, well, after a little running and searching, he was nabbed too!

Stealing structural supports from a home under construction… let’s see some sparks fly!
