.....of idiotic government workers running security at our airports. They should be in charge of flights in and out of our country only. I have had it with them searching me, grandma in her wheelchair, daddy with his infant and not searching terrorists.
We don’t need full body x-ray machines. It is real simple. There should be two lines at every gate; one line for those with a U.S. passport and one line for everybody else. Why is this so difficult for the government? Oh yeah, this is the same federal government that couldn’t get any aid to New Orleans hurricane victims for weeks.
Maybe those American citizens that don’t have a passport will get one if they fly even somewhat frequently.
You see visitors to our country don’t have U.S. passports. People with student visas don’t have U.S. passports and not one single airplane bombing was attempted by any U.S. born citizen (or naturalized for that matter).
I didn’t say people in the passport line were given a free pass, but they will be given the benefit of the doubt. Everybody in the other line can be searched, examined, questioned, x-rayed, patted-down, “wanded”, etc. I don’t care. That is the line that the terrorists would be in if they were present.
I went through an airport two or three years ago, I think it was Orlando or Miami but I’m not positive, that had an enclosure that when you walked in, it blasted air from your feet straight up to a vent on the top that sniffed out explosives. I haven’t seen another since then or saw one in another airport anywhere else. Why is that? Did it work? If it didn’t, why did that airport spend the money on it in the first place?
Now, back to the passport line. Did I forget to mention that when you show your U.S. passport and they see that you were not born in the U.S. (a naturalized citizens) you might undergo additional questions at the little kiosk at the end of the cattle line. That is fine. If a citizen was eventually turned into a terrorist in the future, the first would probably be a naturalized citizen.
Don’t even get me started on the no-fly list. Why are these people walking our streets breathing my air? Government spokespeople report around 500,000 names on a no fly list? If the FBI is not preventing Bernie Madoff or Allen Stanford ponzi schemes what are they doing? There is a list, now go get’em. If they can’t get’em for something then take the name off the list.
I forgot to mention, who they talk to in either line and the “flags” that merit additional questioning is secret. In other words, not public and not public information and may very well change over time.
