Sugar Land Police were called Thursday afternoon about 4:30 to the Olive Garden restaurant in the 5000 block of Sweetwater Boulevard after a man had robbed the manager. According to police officials, the suspect posed as a potential employee. During his interview with the manager, he robbed him.
The suspect left the restaurant then broke into a run across the parking lot, disappearing into a nearby neighborhood. The suspect was last seen on Lexington Avenue near Oxbow park, according to police. A security perimeter was established and police began a coordinated search.
During the search, a Houston police department helicopter scoured the ground, from the air, and Pearland police search dogs sniffed their way through the neighborhood, tracking the suspect. Eventually the search was called off when the tracking dogs lost the suspect’s scent on Willow Pond Court. According to authorities, it was determined the suspect had gotten into a vehicle on Willow Pond Court and left the area.
The suspect was described as a black male, wearing a black coat, dark jeans and an Astros cap.
