Family quarrel ends in homicide |

Tension between father and son leads to the death of the son. Monday evening, January 17, the silence of a quiet riverside neighborhood on the outskirts of Richmond was shattered. About 7:30 p.m. a man called police authorities and said he had just shot his son. When police arrived on the scene, in the 800 block of Riveredge along the banks of the Brazos River, they found a 57 year old man at his home with the body of his 27 year old son. According to authorities, the two had been involved in an altercation when the younger man pulled a gun on his father; threatening him. The father disarmed his son and shot him; killing him. The father was taken into custody and at press time remains in the county jail. The case remains under investigation. |
