State Rep. Ron Reynolds, D-Missouri City, will be the guest speaker at the Missouri City Leadership Luncheon on Thursday, July 13, at 11:30 a.m. at Ben E. Keith Foods, 1 Ben E. Keith Way.
This will be an opportunity for people to hear an overview of the 85th Legislative session.
The cost is $15 and includes lunch, City newsletter, a unique networking opportunity and door prizes.
Since 2012 Missouri City has brought together executives, entrepreneurs and innovators from throughout the region and the county to discuss the trends and challenges facing business leaders today.
Reynolds was sworn in on Jan. 10, 2011, as State Representative House District 27. He is currently serving his fourth term in the Texas House. He is the first African American State Representative in Fort Bend County since Reconstruction. He was voted by his House colleagues as “Freshman Legislator of the Year” and “Public Servant of the Year” by the Houston Minority Contractors Association. Rep. Reynolds is a product of Fort Bend County public school’s Blue Ridge Elementary and Quail Valley Middle School. He went on to attend Texas Southern University and received a B.S. degree in public affairs, magna cum laude.
Reynolds received a doctor of jurisprudence from Texas Tech University School of Law. He is an attorney at law and a former associate municipal judge for the City of Houston and TSU adjunct professor (College of Public Affairs).
Reynolds serves on the environmental regulation and elections committees. He is married to Dr. Jonita Reynolds and is father of three children.
