MARK STEPHEN HORTON, age 51, passed away unexpectedly, on Wednesday, April 15, 2009, in Houston. Mark was born in Huntsville, TX, on September 20, 1957, to Charles Horton and Peggy Horton Wood.
He was currently employed by ISCO Industries. Before moving from La Porte to Houston, Mark was very active in the La Porte Boys Baseball Program as well as the Gulf Coast Select Baseball Program. In his free time, Mark loved going fishing and playing golf.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Erma and William “Bill” Coyle, and Albert and Lela Horton. Mark is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Linda Borek Horton; daughter, Stacey Ann of Port Arthur; sons, Mark Stephen II of Houston and Brian Michael of St. Louis, MO; father, Charles Horton and wife Betty; mother, Peggy Wood and husband Bob; brother, Charles Michael; grandchildren, Mark Stephen “Trey” III and Meredith Mae; uncle, James Coyle and wife Sue; cousin, Christina Navarro; six nieces; three nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation with the family was held from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, on Sunday, April 19, 2009, at Earthman Southwest Chapel, 12555 South Kirkwood, Stafford. The Funeral Service was held at 12:30 PM, on Monday, April 20, 2009, at First United Methodist Church of Missouri City, 3900 Lexington Blvd, Missouri City. Interment followed at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
