A federal judge in Houston dismissed a civil lawsuit in U.S. District Court against Fort Bend District Attorney John Healey and Assistant District Attorney Mark Hanna.
The plaintiff in the case was Jacob Estrada, a Rosenberg man who alleges that the District Attorney’s Office’s inaction in bringing forth new evidence/information resulted in him staying in prison unnecessarily.
Judge Nancy F. Atlas determined in a “final appealable Order” that there was no wrongdoing on the parts of Healey and Hanna.
Estrada, with the assistance of former Assistant District Attorney (and DA candidate) Michael Elliott, has filed a complaint with the State Bar of Texas against Healey and Hanna. That case is still pending.
