A viation International News (AIN) ranks Sugar Land Regional Airport’s Fixed Base of Operation (FBO) the fifth best in the nation. SLRA was the only City-owned
FBO to make the prestigious list, finishing ahead of many nationally known airport operations.
In the aviation industry, the FBO is a service center at an airport providing various aviation-related services, included aircraft fuel, crew facilities, parking, catering and more. SLRA ranked seventh in the nation last year.
AIN is a national publication that has conducted an annual survey of FBO facilities for the past 21 years, ranking the top 40 in the country. SLRA was the only city-owned FBO to make this year’s survey. The survey is based on line service, passenger amenities, pilot amenities and
services.
“Within the aviation industry, this is considered a significant achievement,” said Director of Aviation Phil Savko. “Our airport was ranked ahead of many of the nationally known FBO franchises, such as Atlantic Aviation, MillionAir and SheltAir. In fact, we ranked as the highest
in the Houston metropolitan area and number one in the state of Texas.”
The success of the FBO is a direct result of our personnel and their commitment to the highest level of customer service. Sugar Land Regional Airport is the fourth largest airport in the greater Houston area and the foremost general reliever airport in the southwest sector.
The Sugar Land Regional Airport’s focus is on corporate aviation, while maintaining a balance for the community’s general aviation needs. The airport contributes greatly to the local economy by providing jobs, corporate access to local markets, access to air transportation services, and
facilities to house corporate aviation departments. More than 100 Fortune 500 companies utilize the airport annually.
