OGA’s Accomplishments rival the Best in the World

Founded in 1962, OGA is the creation of Drs. Stanley Rogers, Warren Jacobs and Jack Moore, three physicians dedicated to providing specialized health care services to women. Now one of the largest and most technologically-advanced obstetrical and gynecological groups in the nation. OGA is home to nearly 40 physicians and more than 300 ancillary staff members including physician’s assistants, nurses, lab technicians and office personnel.

From the beginning, OGA’s concern for quality care has driven it to be an association of “firsts,” establishing a precedent as the first medical professional association in Texas. Its founders were determined to offer the best in comfort and convenience for the birthing process, conceptualizing and building the Woman’s Hospital of Texas. This hospital continued OGA’s tradition as the first local institution to invite family members to take an active role in the birthing process, plus provide the first open nursery.

Today, women across the Houston area enjoy the benefits of quality care in the OGA professional building across from the Woman’s Hospital, and in 6 offices affiliated with The Woman’s Hospital of Texas Woman’s Place with offices in Angleton, Clear Lake, Kingwood, Sugar Land, Willowbrook, and Pearland.

OGA specialists establish the same innovative standards in technology and research, providing a wealth of services to women of all ages including routine gynecological and obstetric care, high-risk pregnancy consultation and treatment, infertility diagnosis and incontinence treatment. Many OGA innovations in technical excellence received national attention, particularly techniques practiced by the group’s Assisted Reproductive Center.

Another expanding practice is the Woman’s Pelvic Health and Continence Center. Understanding the private nature of incontinence, OGA offers a high level of expertise, combined with comprehensive, yet thoughtful care. Continence Center patients benefit from OGA’s participation in ongoing studies of incontinence, which recently revealed an effective treatment that combines the paravaginal suspension and urethropexy procedures.

OGA’s accomplishments in the health care industry rival some of the best organizations in the world. The real success story of OGA is found in its people. All OGA physicians are diplomates of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology or board-certified. Many are fellows of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and nearly all OGA physicians are Baylor College of Medicine clinical faculty members. The founding fathers of this organization worked hard to instill a belief in excellence and cooperation. These principles will lead OGA as we meet future health care challenges.
