Mission Statement
The Literacy Council of Fort Bend County provides leadership to
Fort Bend County literacy efforts through advocacy and the
provision of services to functionally illiterate adults and those
with limited English proficiency.
Additional Information
The Literacy Council of Fort Bend County serves adults who have made a decision to change
their own lives through literacy. Volunteers work on a 1 to 1 and a small group basis with
those for whom English is not a first language. Tutors and students meet at times and
places convenient for all for approximately 3 hours per week. The organization also
participates in collaborative efforts with other organizations and schools in an effort to
enhance literacy efforts in Fort Bend County.
