Of these huge national companies that ask me to donate my change, etc. to some blah, blah, blah, really great charity (really). They act like they are doing you a favor by making it so simple for you to donate some small change and they will aggregate them into some really big check and make a tax deductable donation IN THEIR NAME because of their really great customers.

Now, I realize this may be a very nice charity/organization, but why are they asking ME to help them look good making a charitable donation.

At least they tell us to whom they are donating the money.

Take a look at your local politicians. They go to these charity galas all the time, and they spend impressive amounts of money on silent and live auction items WITH YOUR CAMPAIGN DONATION. And you don’t even get to claim a charitable contribution.

Is that really why you gave them the campaign money? I’m sure if they weren’t your candidate/elected official they would still be at that same event ponyingup their own money. Yeah, sure, and I’ve got a bridge to sell you.

These local politicians are only donating to local, deserving charities which is fine, but shouldn’t you be able to contribute to them yourself. I will list a couple local charities and their phone numbers and you can call them TODAY and donate with your credit card!

Don’t wait! Just walk to your check book and write it out and mail it off. If they take credit cards you could probably give them the donation right over the phone. Then, the next time a local politician asks for a hand-out, tell them you already gave to the charity of YOUR choice in YOUR name.

There are numerous other LOCAL Fort Bend charities as well as service organizations that turn around and donate to various causes but these go directly to the charity. Go ahead, make the call. Right now! I’m serious.
