A new recreational opportunity for the entire family is now available to Missouri City residents- kayaking!
It’s a chance to learn a new skill that offers both physical and personal rewards. The Parks and Recreation Department is offering a Kayaking Clinic from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9 at Pavilion #1 at Buffalo Run Park, 1122 Buffalo Run. The cost is $55 per person. All equipment will be provided.
“This course provides an opportunity to acquire the basic knowledge, information and skills necessary to handle a kayak in calm waters,” said Recreation Superintendent Jennifer Sooy. “The course also includes a discussion of kayaking in other types of conditions.”
No previous experience is required for the afternoon of relaxation and fun. Pre-registration is required online or at the Community Center in the City Hall complex, 1522 Texas Parkway. To download and fill out a registration form, go to www.missouricitytx.gov, click on the “Government” tab, scroll down to “Parks and Recreation”, click on “Classes & Activities” and fill out the “Registration Form”.
