Sugar Land police get to have all the fun. In between hunting home invaders and mall robbers they get to deal with the morons that float through their city from foreign places like Houston.
This past weekend was no exception. Seems some rocket scientist from the Big City came rolling through and mistook a railroad track for the highway. Who’d thought it?
In the wee hours of Friday, police were dispatched to US 90A and Dairy Ashford to investigate a train/auto accident. Imagine their surprise when they had to look for the car! It was located on the north side of the tracks some 300 feet from the intersection.
The uninjured driver was arrested for DWI. No one on the Amtrack train was injured. According to officials, they may not even known they had been involved in an accident as most passengers were asleep.
Next time you approach that intersection, take a gander, when would you mistake those tracks for US 90A? Just how impaired do you really have to be to mistake the RR for the highway?
