Principal Dr. David Hook of Fort Bend Baptist Academy in Sugar Land announced that three FBBA students have been named Commended Students in the 2010 National Merit Scholarship Program. A Letter of Commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation, which conducts the program, will be presented by the principal to these scholastically talented seniors.
Students honored include Kiara Skokan, daughter of Ms. Morgan Skokan of Sugar Land, Warren “Adam” Adams, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Adams of Missouri City, and Whitney Park, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Parker of Sugar Land.
“Recognition of high-achieving students is essential to advancing education excellence in our nation,” commented Jon Froelich, high school counselor at Fort Bend Baptist Academy. “As demonstrated by their outstanding performance at FBBA and in this highly competitive program, these students named as Commended Students represent some of the most academically talented students in our country. “
Earlier this month, senior Jane Jarjour was named a National Merit Semifinalist, and Crystal Buraruk was recognized as a National Hispanic Scholar.
