Addison Marshall was diagnosed with Acute Lymoceutic Leukemia in May of 2009 at the age of 15. He is undergoing treatment at MD Anderson that will span the rest of his high school career. He passed the critical phase of acute treatment during the last eight months and he now informs his Oncology Team that he will suit up and play Spring Football alongside his team at Foster High School.
The Fort Bend County community has rallied around this family during their hour of need, as they look forward to the day that they can pass the baton of caring to the next family facing the fight of their life. According to Addison’s Mom, “One of the many concerns you have when your child is diagnosed with cancer is that he will be isolated and forgotten as cancer can be an incredibly lonely experience, but thanks to this compassionate community we feel nurtured and supported.”
A web site has been created, www.addisonmarshallcrushcancer.com, which has information regarding the 1st Annual Addison Marshall Golf Tournament that is scheduled for March 22, 2010, at the Weston Lakes Golf Course in Fulshear. The fundraiser includes a dinner, auction and raffle. Proceeds will go to the Addison Marshall Leukemia Fund. There will also be a new book drive that evening to benefit the MD Anderson Children’s Clinic.
